Sunlife Business Meeting Minutes

15 March 2021

Meeting held over the internet via Zoom provided by Doc Cunningham and called to order at 1300 by President Sue Rogers.

Health and Welfare Reported that Larry Taylor fell.

Rod Fritz reports that Special Event for Last Man Standing 24 to 30 March

Bob Reports on the Volunteer Monitors and gave statistics on hours spent and violations reported.

Minutes of previous business meeting (17 Feb) read and approved as read.

Treasurer's Report-- Treasurer Goforth read report--After deposit of $30, Checking = $1431.47. Savings/Ed Fund = $1286.90. Petty Cash = $215.87. Moved and seconded to accept report as read—motion passed

 

Old Business—Cannot connect 20 meter net to echolink without dedicated dual band radio. After discussion, decided to leave net as is and have people check-in and act as net control on an ad hoc basis. Jerry Davis to insure that Zulu time on website for net start times.

New Business

Equipment Audit-- Doug Ward reported on audit that was performed by Greenfield Village residents since we were not allowed entry because of Covid. Diamond analyzer missing. Doug to make list of things that seem to be missing. Question about calibrating analyzer—just check 50 ohm load. Heathkit oscilloscope in possession of Doc, seems to not be working. Value on open market about $50 if working—can buy new one for about $100. Crimper set not located. Need to store some batteries for use in audio equipment. Tom reports that batteries removed from all devices in cabinet and bagged them.

Nominating Committee Jim Steinmetz, Greg Watson, with Jack H as spokesman, announce that current slate of officers to run again. No other nominations made. Motion made and seconded to accept Sue Rogers as President, Ralph Towers as Vice President, Cheri Goforth as Treasurer, and Chuck Rogers as Secretary. Motion passed.

Thumb Drive—no action taken

Website Fee--$260.51 paid by Jerry Davis to GoDaddy for https secure website. Motion to reimburse was made and seconded. After discussion about hosting own server, motion to reimburse Jerry was passed.

Testing--Bob Bingham reports testing 104 people this year and giving information about club to them.

Dues—Give/send check to treasurer, or hand money to any club officer at the park on Thursday.

Tucson Hamfest --10 Apr at Elliott Electronics

 

Joke – Get Mexico on radio—I can open window and get Chile.
