Sunlife Business Meeting Minutes

16 March 2020

Meeting held on the west side of Red Mountain Park and called to order 1000 by President Jerry Davis. Meeting also broadcast over radio utilizing the Superstition ARC VHF Repeater 147.120 MHz.

Returning/New Members None

 

Health and Welfare Hoppy not doing well. Laura is in car listening to meeting on radio.

 

Minutes of previous business meeting (17 Feb) read and approved as read.

 

Treasurer's Report-- Current Bank Balance $2748.65, petty cash $176.69, education fund $1286.90. Moved and seconded to approve report as read. Motion carried.

 

Old Business – Jeff, AG7NH, reported on committee to investigate usefulness of 20 & 2 meter nets. Said they were on going even though sparsely attended. No recommendation for closing nets. Moved to cancel investigative committee. Motion seconded and passed.

 

New Business – Motion: Reimburse President Davis for website security package of $260.51 for entire calendar year. Motion seconded and passed.

Motion: Persons taking club classes, passing test for upgraded license, and requesting new call sign, the club will pay for new badge with new call sign. Motion seconded and passed.

Report from Inventory Committee: Equipment accounted for and written report submitted. Recommend auctioning off unused equipment at a November meeting.

Report from Financial Audit Committee: (George and Anna)No discrepencies—the books are very accurate.

Election of Officers: (Nominating committee--Hugh KL7HM, Jeff, Jim) Thanks to Cliff for 6 years of service. Thanks for rest of currently serving officers, Tom (PP), Chuck (Sec), and Jerry (Pres). Jeff, AG7NH, conducted election of officers. Nominating committee recommends Sue Rogers, W7SKH as President, Ralph Towers (KA0CET) as Vice President, Chuck Rogers (W7CBR) as Secretary, and Dwight Carlson (KF7WI ) as Treasurer. There were no further nominations from the floor.

Motion: to accept those nominated by acclimation. Motion seconded and passed.

Art points out that history made today—First Female Club President in a long time. Lenore Hines was president for two years, 1997 and 1998.

 

Announcements

Andy Keels, KD4ABB, President of Superstition ARC, (via radio) asked that future uses of the Superstition ARC repeater for meetings be cleared with Superstition ARC officers to insure that no interference with ongoing club activities occurs.
